Anna Carlstone Hurst
Director of Leadership Development

Anna Carlstone Hurst is the founder of Libertas College Prep and current Director of Leadership Development. She began her work in education through Teach for America where she taught 8th grade English in the South Bronx for five years. She joined an education leadership fellowship with Build. Excel. Sustain. After observing over 40 high performing charter schools, Anna and an incredible founding team of board members and founding teachers opened Libertas College Prep in South Los Angeles. Libertas became a school of distinction, named a California Distinguished School in 2020 and earning top place among middle schools in Los Angeles. She holds a BA from UCLA, a Masters in Teaching from Pace University, and a Masters of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School.
