Alex Rashad
Program Educator | Music
My name is Alex Rashad, and I have been playing music for about 11 years. I am a professional saxophone and bass player, with proficiency in guitar and drums as well. Before joining Libertas, I completed my undergraduate degree at Berklee College Of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, with a degree in Professional Saxophone Performance. During my time in Boston, I worked as a resident educator at the prestigious Boston Arts Academy, where I taught workshops and lead jazz ensembles of 10-15 students. Together, we worked on learning and executing repertoire outside of our comfort zones, and learned to communicate and collaborate effectively with our fellow classmates. I chose to teach at Libertas because the community values very much align with my teaching philosophy. I’m excited to join this community that is focused on uplifting one another while exploring and nurturing each student’s uniqueness.
